We are hoping to get more members to vote on which local organization we’d like to donate quilts to as part of our community project. Please select the organization you’d like to donate quilts to below… it will only take a second. If you voted in the first poll please vote again on this one so I have all the info on one poll.
I will see about reserving a library room for a Saturday or Sunday in January/February so we can have a day long workshop where we can come and go and work on our donation quilts. More details on that to come after the holidays. For now, please cast your vote below. I’ve also included info on each group so you know what the organization does.
1. Alachua County Public Schools, Homeless Education Program: “… provides assistance, including free lunches and backpacks, to homeless children grades K-12,”
2. Arbor House: “… a living and learning motherhood community offering long term housing and programs to homeless pregnant women and single-mother families while they pursue goals that lead to self-sufficiency.”
3. Kids Count: “… provides a free after school literacy program for kindergarten through 3rd grade students in low performing elementary schools in Gainesville, Florida. There are two program locations with 20 students at each.
4. Pleasant Place: “… provides a safe, nurturing environment for pregnant and parenting teens who are victims of abuse or neglect or who are homeless while they continue their education.”
