Oue next meeting is Wednesday, March 5th and we will be meeting at the Milhopper Branch Library in Gainesville. Please note that we will meet in the children’s area of the library instead of our usual meeting room. There are tables and chairs there so we will be busy. Be sure to read this entire post because we have a lot of going on!
1) Mug Rug Swap- At our last meeting we decided to have a small (but still fun!) mug rug swap for March 2014. If you don’t know what a mug rug is it’s basically a mix between a drink coaster and a placemat. It’s just the right size to fit your mug and a snack on while at your work desk. If you need ideas or inspiration just click HERE.
{Click on the picture below for more ideas. Pinterest has a zillion mug rugs for you to get inspiration from!}
2) Color Theory for Modern Quilters Workshop by Brigit-
After our mug rug swap we will participate in a fun little activity on color theory for modern quilters. Our very own Brigit is going to walk us through the exercise. More details on what supplies you should bring will be included in another post later this week. But come ready to have fun and learn a little more about using color in your modern quilts!
3) Voting of Guild Officers- As you know we are finally getting the ball rolling on being a formal part of the Modern Quilt Guild. One of the first things we need to do is establish an executive board for the guild. We will be voting at the March meeting. So, look out for another email post with a nomination document included and more details. If you plan to be a paying member of the guild as we move forward in this process please come to the March meeting to help us vote in our new (and first!) executive board. More details to follow in another post this week.
Exciting things are in the works for Gainesville Modern Quilters and we need your help to make it all happen! Thanks for your support and see you in March!
