GMQ meeting Wednesday April 5

Hi everyone!

Gainesville Modern Quilters meets this Wednesday, April 5, at the Milhopper Branch Library at 7:00 pm. We might be moved to another meeting room because it is tax season, so look in Meeting Room B if we are not in A (our usual spot).

For anyone working on the Riley Blake challenge–projects are due at the end of this month. (I haven’t started mine yet!) For this meeting, we will have our usual show and tell and I have some ideas about the website that I’d like to share.

See you on Wednesday!

GMQ Goes to QuiltCon!

A bunch of our guild members went to the first QuiltCon East in beautiful Savannah. Some of us took classes and some worked the floor, we all admired the stunning quilts and had a great time! It was such an amazing opportunity to meet quilters from other guilds, learn from leaders in the modern quilt movement, play fun games, get free stuff (looking at you Courtney and Kati–masterful getters of quilty goodness), test out machines, and see some really fabulous quilts. Here are some of our favorite pictures from QuiltCon 2017!

GMQ meeting this Wednesday

Hi everyone!

Gainesville Modern Quilters meets this Wednesday, March 1, at 7:00 pm at the Millhopper Branch Library. We will be sharing our stories from QuiltCon and showing what we’re working on! Some of us are participating in the Riley Blake fabric challenge–so please feel free to share your progress on your challenge project!

Hope to see you there!

GMQ meeting, February 1

Hi everyone! Gainesville Modern Quilters meets this Wednesday, February 1, at 7:00 pm at the Millhopper Branch Library. We will have a special guest attending who will be presenting about the upcoming Tree City Quilt Show.

And, of course, we’ll have plenty of time for show and tell.

Remember that any member can suggest a topic for future meetings–these can include swaps, quilt-alongs, charity projects, tutorials, demonstrations, workshops–and our officer positions are open so don’t be shy about volunteers for one of these roles!
