Hope everyone had a great 4th! GMQ meets tomorrow, July 11, at 7:00 pm at the Sewing Coop. We will be sharing progress on our Charity Quilt blocks and trading scraps, so please bring any completed blocks and any leftover fabric you might have in the colors. If you haven’t started, no worries! Blocks are not due until the September meeting.
If you have any ideas for workshops, demos or other activities that you would like to add to the calendar, please let us know! We will start planning the guild’s fall calendar as well as our usual show and tell!
Courtney will be giving a foundation paper piecing demo and we will be talking about our QuiltCon charity quilt. And we’ll have show and tell as always! Hope you can make it–lots of fun stuff happening!
I am excited to be teaching a brief workshop on using the Clammy ruler to make half circle, quarter circle and orange peel blocks! If you have a Clammy, please bring it! Otherwise we can share. You will also need a rotary cutter (small size) and two fat quarters of different fabrics. Solids are good (always in my opinion!) but patterns will work, as well.
Our meeting will be at the Sewing Coop, May 2 from 7:00 to 9:00. We will also talk guild business and have plenty of time for show and tell!
Gainesville Modern Quilters meets this Wednesday, April 5, at the Sewing Coop! If you were at last month’s meeting, we are exchanging mini quilts. There is still time to whip up a mini for Wednesday–remember we are taking inspiration from pages 50-75 of any publication. Bring in the source of your inspiration along with your mini–for swapping! We also want to see what you’re working on!
Gainesville Modern Quilters meets this Wednesday, March 7, at 7:00 pm at the Sewing Coop! If you attended the February meeting, remember that we will exchange our mini quilts! Brigit attended QuiltCon in Pasadena and will share her impressions of the quilts and the show. Bring your finished quilts, works in progress, and anything else you would like to share. Hope to see you there!
